GaRID uses committees to carry out much of its mission and to involve members in professional growth, advocacy, and organizational governance. Committees can be standing, ad hoc, or task-based — each with specific goals.

Serving on a committee is a meaningful way to share your time, talent, and ideas while helping to strengthen Georgia’s interpreting community. Whether you’re an experienced interpreter, a student member, or an ally, your participation helps move our mission forward—together.​

QUALIFICATIONS.

To serve on a GaRID committee, members should:

  • Be a GaRID member in good standing

  • Be willing to commit to a full term (July 1 – June 30)

  • Attend meetings regularly (virtual or in-person as needed)

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other members

  • Dedicate the time necessary to contribute meaningfully

  • Respond to communications promptly (within 72 hours)
